Associated General Contractors of Wyoming Endorses Curt Meier for State Treasurer

Construction industry cites proven leadership, fiscal stewardship and commitment to Wyoming’s future

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Wyoming has endorsed Wyoming State Treasurer Curt Meier for re-election, recognizing his record of responsible financial management, support for Wyoming’s economy and longstanding commitment to the state’s construction industry.

The endorsement was approved by AGC of Wyoming’s leadership following a review of candidates for statewide office.

“Associated General Contractors of Wyoming is proud to endorse Curt Meier for another term as Wyoming State Treasurer,” said Kevin Craft, President of AGC of Wyoming. “Throughout his career in the Legislature and as State Treasurer, Curt has demonstrated a commitment to sound fiscal management, responsible investment of public funds and policies that strengthen Wyoming’s economy. His experience and steady leadership have earned the confidence of Wyoming’s construction industry, and we are pleased to support his re-election.”

Meier said he is honored to receive the endorsement from one of Wyoming’s leading business organizations.

“Wyoming’s contractors build the roads, schools, bridges, water systems and public infrastructure that keep our state moving forward,” Meier said. “They create good-paying jobs, strengthen local communities and help drive Wyoming’s economy. I’m grateful for the confidence AGC has placed in me, and I look forward to continuing to protect taxpayer dollars while supporting an economic climate where Wyoming businesses can grow and succeed.”

Meier noted that a strong economy depends on both private-sector investment and responsible management of public resources.

“Every dollar we earn through disciplined investment management is a dollar that doesn’t have to come from taxpayers,” Meier said. “My goal has always been to make Wyoming’s money work for Wyoming people while ensuring our state remains financially strong for future generations.”

Since taking office in 2019, Meier has led a Treasurer’s Office that has achieved historic financial results. Under his leadership, Wyoming’s investment earnings became the largest source of state revenue for the first time in history, generating nearly $1.9 billion last year. His administration has also returned record amounts of unclaimed property to its rightful owners, delivering more than $72 million to Wyoming citizens and businesses during the past two fiscal years.

Before being elected State Treasurer, Meier served more than two decades in the Wyoming Legislature, where he earned a reputation as a conservative leader and advocate for fiscal responsibility, private enterprise and responsible economic development. Throughout his public service, he has emphasized his commitment to faithfully uphold the Constitutions of the United States and Wyoming and the oath of office he has taken to serve the people of Wyoming.

Founded in 1932, the Associated General Contractors of Wyoming is the state’s leading trade association representing commercial building contractors, highway and heavy construction firms, utility contractors and affiliated businesses. The organization advocates for policies that promote safe, efficient infrastructure development, economic growth and a strong construction industry throughout Wyoming.

The Wyoming Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, August 18.
